Karen became director of Under the Apple Tree in 2009.
She has been married to her husband David for 38 years,and they have two sons. She also recently become a grandmother.

What was supposed to be a temporary position became a calling. The job combines her love of children and the opportunity to share her devotion to Christ.

Her capacity to care for the children is summed up in a
quote from a little boy,” I know who you are. You’re my
mommy till my mommy comes.”
